Submissions for the 2004 Isotope Award for Excellence in Mini-Comics are now open. It is nice to see Isotope and others working at getting new talent more recognition, but minis are not the easiest format for new readers to get into. They are never as cheap as I expect, and the quality seems to be so varied it is hard to know what to try. Awards like this are a nice way to get a recommendation.
