05/07/2001 Entry: "Prostate Cancer" A good friend's dad recently died of prostate cancer. There are a number of organizations dedicated to fighting prostate cancer, like CapCure and Prostate Cancer Research Institute. It currently appears that genetics and age play a large role in determining who gets this type of cancer, but proper diet and exercise do help reduce the risk. Prostate cancer also usually has no symptoms, so it is detected by tests performed during a doctor's visit. More information is available at the American Cancer Society's Prostate Cancer Information Page. So I guess this entry is a helpful reminder to visit your doctor regularly. Replies: 87 comments
