Cubs win!

When I was a kid, I liked baseball. I started out as a Brewers fan, since that was the local team, but when I got a little older I became a Cubs fan. That was the team my grandpa liked, and I could see all their games on cable. I spent a lot of afternoons watching the Cubs lose and laughing at the strange things Harry Carey would say. My dad was even nice enough to take me to see some Cubs games at Wrigley Field, which is still my favorite baseball stadium. The '89 season was a heartbraker, though, seeing the cubs finally make it to the playoffs and then lose out to San Francisco.

I gradually fell out of the baseball habit, though, and don't really follow it very anymore. Seeing the Cubs make it back to the playoffs this year, though, felt a little bittersweet for me knowing that this was the first season my grandpa wasn't around to see them play. I don't know if he had been following them that closely the past few years, but I'm sure he would have liked to see them make another run at it.

And it seems like I better get this written before the Cubs find a way to lose the series.
