Savannah

We went on a mini-vacation to Savannah, GA to experience a little more warmth and to get our minds off of work and holiday stress and all those other things. It was nice, there was plenty of good food, and the city was interesting despite the weather being much cooler than we would have liked. There were a few places we didn't get to visit and a few restaurants we didn't have time to visit, but overall it was enjoyable and relaxed. Don't bother with the riverboat cruise, though - it mostly passes refineries, warehouses, and shipyards, which is not so exciting. Do make sure to eat at Lady and Sons if you don't get much southern food in your diet - it was quite tasty. It is certainly strange for me to see historical places that take a southern perspective, but aside from one tourguide it was pretty informative without being too dissmissive of some of the horrible aspects of the past.
