Texas will make you a real man
Well, it tried, anyways. I got to drive a pickup, buy major appliances, move lots of boxes, build furniture, buy a tool to complete a home repair, and eat breakfast at McDonald's. Yikes. It sure feels different out there, with employees asking you to come back again, lots of driving and parking, big everything, non-organic farmer's markets, heat heat heat. Still need to find a good bubble tea place, but it does seem like there are some nice restaurants (even a few that are not barbecue places!) and everything is frighteningly well air-conditioned. And there was a pretty impressive grocery store even froofier than the extra-large whole foods we went to. How long can I resist the urge to run around the rich neighborhoods and tear down the election signs, though???
