Noodles

Earliest noodles discovered in China. They appear to be made out of millet instead of wheat, and are about 4,000 years old. Apparently, wheat did not become popular in China until the introduction of the grindstone from Roman traders. Instead of just using the ground wheat for flatbread, though, the chinese used it for "noodles, dumplings, thin pancakes, stuffed buns, and steamed breads." Mmmm.

Wow

We just got engaged!

I am very lucky to have found someone so generous and smart and funny and entertaining and attractive (and lots of other positive adjectives) who wants to spend lots and lots of time with me. We went to NYC for her birthday and before we endangered ourselves on the trapeze I got my knee dirty and gave away the jewelry in central park at bethesda terrace. It was a wonderful trip for a lot of reasons, and it was a really nice way to start off this whole adventure.

But first things first: have to notify all of the parents!
